The best way to join is to come to lunch.
Lexington Rotary is not a secret. Visit as a guest, see if the room feels like home, then apply. We will take it from there.
How it works
Four steps, no mystery.
01
Visit on a Wednesday
Come to lunch at Lafayette Regional Health Center. First through third Wednesdays are program meetings; fourth Wednesdays are club business. We do not meet on fifth Wednesdays. A Rotarian will greet you, sit with you, and introduce you around the room.
02
See if it fits
Two or three meetings are enough to know. You will hear a program, meet people from across Lexington’s trades and professions, and see how the club actually works.
03
Apply
Fill out the membership application on this site or at a meeting. The board reviews classifications so the club stays a cross-section of the town, then votes.
04
Orientation and induction
New members complete a short orientation, join a committee, and are inducted at a regular Wednesday meeting. After that, you are one of us.

What membership asks
Time, a vocation, and a willingness to be useful.
Attendance
Be present. The custom is to make a majority of weekly meetings and club projects over the year. Make-ups at other clubs, e-clubs, and service events all count.
Classification
Each member represents a vocation. We are not exclusive by category, but we do want the room to reflect the real work of Lexington.
Service
Dues keep the lights on. The work is Shoes for Orphan Souls, the dictionaries, the scholarships, and showing up when a neighbor asks.
Fellowship
Sit with someone you don’t know. That is how a 100-year-old club stays new.
Dues cover meals and the club’s share of district and Rotary International costs. Amounts change with the Rotary year — ask the treasurer when you visit. Dues are prorated if you join mid-year.

Membership application
Please visit at least once before you apply. The board reviews classifications so the club remains a cross-section of Lexington, then votes. You are welcome to keep coming as a guest until you are inducted.
